CLASSIC WELLESLEY LANDSCAPE

IDDLA’s design for this corner lot enhances curb appeal at the striking front entrance while creating a family-friendly, informal entry at the side and garage. In the back, we designed a private, raised terrace with a built-in outdoor kitchen and gas firepit, maximizing borrowed views into the adjoining woodland. A rose garden with a fruit tree espalier adds year-round interest, while crisp thermal bluestone paving and fieldstone walls contribute to the landscape's classic yet modern aesthetic.

We collaborated closely with the client, builder, architect, and environmental engineer from schematic design through permitting and construction. Our team received unanimous approval from Wellesley’s Design Review Board and Planning Board, earning special commendations on the landscape.

In later project phases, we worked with the Wellesley Wetland Protection Committee to add a circular driveway and restore the wetland buffer with a native woodland-edge garden.
